The rain was inspiration today to do a little…

Although I don’t really like the rain at all. I wish it would SNOW!!

Walking in the rain sucks. But I decided to do it anyway as my cardio today as had so many appointments to run around to all over town. So it added up. Or at least that’s what I battle with when it comes to walking. How much is enough? I mean, how much walking counts as enough to equal the cardio of the day? I can’t seem to figure that out, and as such do way too much or try to do as much as I can as I am just not satisfied…this is probably because I am extreme by nature…so doing things “normally” is just abnormal to me. I am the girl who used to stay on the elliptical machine at the gym every day until I hit 1500 calories! And I wouldn’t let myself leave until I did. If I could I would walk everywhere or run everywhere, and just never stop!

When is enough, enough?

365 ONE: day 51…an array of a day

An array of a day!

I didn’t mean to walk as my cardio today again to the office from NYU after the Chlamydia mock trial I had this morning, but I was on the phone to my dad and suddenly realized that I had walked all the way to the office! Funny I didn’t notice. Odd, actually.

I had a super busy day today. Mock Trial and then work and then had expense work I do every few months for a real estate broker up at Brown Harris Stevens. I hadn’t been there in a while and had to finish the rest of her 2011 expenses so it was looooooooong and only got back home at midnight!!

Once I figured out it was going to be looooooong I realized I had to do my 365 during some breaks in the expenses or once done. It’s quite an eerie office, especially at night when everyone is gone….in this case I have to say “usually” gone as for some strange reason a few brokers were still there! I love having the place to myself and was hoping for this especially since I had to 365, but no no no that would be too easy apparently!

Hence a crazy office video upload! Tried to do something without anyone noticing!!

Sneaky.

The song I also did at BHS after I had finished the expenses. I turned out the office lights and put on a classic favourite song I used to love to club to when I was little. It made me laugh as I never knew the lyrics so used to fake them when I dance. I do that a lot. I sing out loud while clubbing and not sure I have all the lyrics to everything but I appear to HAHA!! 🙂

Anything to Note =

I was doing sit-ups in the office bathroom foyer section when someone came in. Normally if I’m doing push-ups or planks or something and someone comes in I still have a split second to jump up off the floor as if I am on my way out, but this time I only managed to get up to my knees when this woman came in, so had to think quick! I pretended to tie my shoelace that was…already….tied….not sure she bought it!! Not my smartest move!

I had a funny realization today that could have been a complete disaster! The full explanation is on my video upload of the day but I ended up not really looking properly at what I was wearing and had to go to my mock trial meeting this morning and then the office…and you COULD SEE MY FRIGGIN’ LACY BRA through a COMPLETELY SEE-THROUGH SHIRT!! No joke! Watch my video upload 🙂 UGH!!

365 ONE: day 49…”No Matter What”

Anything to Note =

I had an idea today to do some sort of toothpaste or mouthwash commercial something this morning as my video upload but a number of things went wrong!! OF COURSE!!

First, I found some mouthwash, old mouthwash in the bathroom and decided to use it, turned on the ipod and just as I was opening the lid I noticed a bunch of hairs stuck to the top…GROSS! But, the video was on so had to keep going!

Then I looked over at the video and saw that where I had placed the ipod meant that I had to bend down to be in the shot, so had to squat against the sink cabinet the whole time!! Muscles were burning!

Then not enough would come out when I took a swig of the mouthwash – it has some weird contraption on it that’s supposed to give you I guess the exact amount, but it was like a dribble, so I had to go with it and found it super hard to do any swishing or gargling!!

And stupid me had placed the ipod in a position where I couldn’t turn it off without having to lift it up to get to the off button!! That was annoying!

AND…then watched the video and saw that in my impromptu mouthwash dance my boobs were a-flying since I had no bra on! GREAT!

Oh well! So much for a seamless video 🙂

But it DID NOT turn out like her!!

Side note: it’s amazing how inspired you can feel when the dance of the day is done in proper workout gear and not just average clothes – also…it helps to have the sportsman of the year playing on the TV too. HAHA 🙂


365 ONE: day 48…lift that butt!

Jam packed today again – yet another day of two shows so had to take care of the 365 early on. Yesterday I didn’t get home until around 2am so it was a good thing I had done the blog and all. That is the last thing I want to do when I come home that late, that’s for sure!

You know what helps you do the 365 fitness, doing it in front of the TV while watching an infomercial about getting fit! And ironically, this morning the infomercial was Jillian Michaels and her new 90 day DVD set 🙂 Normally I get the Insanity infomercials on a Saturday morning – which I have seen so many times!! And yet funnily enough, I seem to watch a lot each time before switching channels…I have to admit I like the before and after pictures…although it makes you wonder with the technology these days, what stops them from having overweight people and simulating what they would look like thinner and toned with Photoshop? Or the other way around – having a super athletic person and then transforming what they would look like if they were fatter and out of shape with a little Photoshop….

Right after I watched way too much of the Jillian Michaels show, guess what was on the next channel…another fitness infomercial, but one I had never seen before…something to do with a Brazilian personal trainer making promises to lift your butt! That’s right…the women testimonials and pictures were all about how this program had changed their butts! NO JOKE! The before and after photos focused on the butts of these women transforming with this fitness and dance regime over a few months…it was hilariously graphic!!! The butts did look better and lifted! That was a new one for me on a Saturday morning 🙂

Interestingly on these photos, just after I had thought about the photoshopping possibility and the authenticity of the before and after shots, this Brazilian butt lift show had photos too and at the bottom it said “these have not been photoshopped” or something like that! And boy did these photos look R.E.A.L!!! The real-ist before and after shots I have ever seen…stretch marks, fat dimples…it was, on one hand a relief that finally a show is baring it all, but on the other hand now seriously made me wonder how much photoshopping is being done on all the other fitness infomercials out there!

I found it, the Brazil Butt Lift brief infomercial on YouTube, but sadly this is like a minute version so the good real before and after footage is not there, but here is a little bit of what was on TV…its like butt porn!!!!!!!! BOOTY PORN!!!


365 ONE: day 47…I am not a Pavlov Dog…

Anything to Note =

Another show tonight, another show weekend – translated as….get all my 365 criteria done asap before I get to the theatre since I won’t be home before 1am!!

Sooooo…Pavlov’s dogs learned, through repetition, to not make the same mistakes over and over. They learned, through repetition, and suffering, that eventually what they were doing was harmful to them and not the best option, and so they adapted….well, I can’t say so much for myself!

I decided, again, to walk down the 17 flights at the office to the lobby and then immediately back up to the 17th floor as my cardio at the office. I have done this before and it was HELL!! In fact, I have done this twice and both times were HELL! So why oh why would I ever do it again??????????? You tell me!

I just thought it was raining out and I needed to do cardio, and since it is my show tonight, then walking would have been what I do to get it in, but then it was raining out, so what could I do instead?? “I guess I will walk down 17 flights and back up 17 flights”……………..UGH!!! Why Am I So Stupid!!??!!

So, how was the walk up and down….you guessed it…HELL!!

AND, AND…I was wearing boots today so that was a super smart decision! AND, AND, AND…I wore a million layers of sweaters so was dying of heat! My heart was about to pop out of my chest! It was beating so hard in my head and I was panting like a friggin’ dog, but no no no, not like one of Pavlov’s dogs!!! Pavlov’s dogs are sitting by the pool with a margarita in hand chilling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s not so bad walking DOWN 17 flights, but just a few flights up and it hits you like a tonne of bricks, and I was walking slowly!!!!!! Sooooo, what the eff is it about stairs?? I can’t be THAT out of shape? Can I? Can I really?

UGH!

And you know what’s worse….you KNOW at some point, in my however many days left in this 365 challenge, I am going to walk up and down 17 flights again and complain about it. YUP! Oh, I just remembered, our office is moving at the end of next month to the 18th floor – GREAT!! So it will be 18 flights down and 18 flights up soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH. UGH. UGH.

 


365 ONE: day 46…New Yorkers like Crazy!

Anything to Note =

New York City is the perfect place to be an actor….and I don’t mean that in the sense that it’s duh an artistic town, but in the sheer fact that you can go around talking to yourself, like memorizing your lines out loud or getting into character/role in public, and no one thinks anything of it! You don’t need an excuse to be mumbling to yourself on the subway or as you walk down the street, even when you’re standing in line at Starbucks…beacause everyone around you is used to the constant crazy! There is always something crazy around the corner, next to you, staring at you, so as an actor, you fit in quite nicely as IT IS YOU! 🙂

I walked from the office down to NYU today, yes to get my cardio in, but also because it was a chance to practice my role that I was about to interview in for the mock trials. Yesterday I had to play the expert on chlamydia, which I play every year for the mock trials, but today I had to play an additional new role in another mock trial – the ACS case worker. I felt less familiar and less confident with this role just because it was my first time, but thought nothing a good brisk walk, in role, wouldn’t be able to cure 🙂 I often do that for memorization – I am actually luckily a quick memorizer, but doing things like learning lines while at the gym on the elliptical always worked, and in the same vein, walking and speaking out loud helps too (a quick trick to those that need help memorizing…try it!).

It was a little tricky though today as I was leaving while the whole of NYC and their mother were leaving work during rush hour and had to thus weave myself through the hoards of people while still trying to maintain a brisk nature for the cardio sake, and also trying to look down at my notes in hand along the way, while mumbling! AND…hitting Herald Square and Union Square as well as the equally busy West Village area was not fun. It was me multi-tasking. Dizzily, I might add.

And, of course being a true New Yorker. A Crazy. You know, one of them 🙂
