This morning I noticed something…

Or rather I acknowledged something that has been around me for ages but only this morning did it really sink in that it applied to me now…

I was on the subway and was on my blackberry, of course, when the train announcement started yakking – usual blah blah blah:

“…delayed because of train traffic ahead”

Even though there was no train traffic ahead as I waited for the train for ages so we all know that is an automated message to explain any pause in the journey.

“…careful of your cell phones…” something something.

Got it – don’t expose money and any valuables in case of theft…which happened to me by the way.

Someone stole my cell phone out of my corner pocket of my backpack – which was my fault as I was carrying things so put it in there for a brief moment and then I felt it being stolen! Seriously! I felt the guy behind me take it, or push against me – and I immediately reached for it and it was gone!

The guy was still behind me as we were getting on, so I turned around and basically asked “Did you just steal my phone?” over and over as he replied over and over with “No!” while we were still moving onto the train. And just like that the subway doors shut in front of me and I was on the subway and he was still on the platform!!!!!!!!!!!!

UGH!!! That was a frustrating moment. I was ready for a fight but really I don’t know what I would have done as he was getting up in my face, as was I, before those doors separated us. A little scary.

But all I cared about was my blackberry!!!

Anyway, got sidetracked there!

So these announcements were going on – one about train traffic and then about watching out for your valuables that we’ve all heard a million times, and then came something like:

“…when an elderly or pregnant person is standing near you, please offer your seat. Courtesy is contagious and it begins with you.”

And again we’ve heard it a million times, but for some reason today it hit me that that message was talking about me now! That I was now in that category! It was weird – as soon as he said a pregnant person, it resonated right through me.

I don’t know.

It just made me feel funny! šŸ™‚

Although, I can’t sit anyway thanks to good ol’ 365 but it was like a double-take…or a “double-listen”!!!! HAHA!!

365 ONE: day 75…”you are walking the wrong way”

Day 75: March 23rd, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Who Wants To Be Alone” by TiestoĀ Feat. Nelly Furtado

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Subway Spying”

Anything to Note =

Many things went wrong with my Walking today as my cardio…

1). I had to carry a huge backpack of paperwork that I had to collect and copy from home to the office and then from the office to my meeting and from my meeting to home. I have my greencard interview Monday so had to get things done and forgot that I had a meeting downtown and would be walking around as my cardio today, but I had no choice, so now my back hurts šŸ˜¦ I looked like I was wearing the kitchen sink!! Got some strange looks, and many people underestimating how far out my backpack sat, so they kept bumping into it!

2). Got out of my meeting and decided to walk a little further up to the express train as it was late, right it turns out after the New York Rangers hockey game got out of Madison Square Gardens! People everywhere!!!!!!!!! So me and my big backpack struggled to manoeuvre around them all.

3). AsĀ I fought to the subway amid the crowds there was suddenly a garbage truck backing up in front of me across the sidewalk going into the garage when we hear screams and yelling and loud banging. The garbage truck almost hitĀ some people! It too was fighting the hockey game crowds but really had no concern, just backed up! And fast! I am glad it was too busy that I wasn’t looking down at my phone at that moment otherwise I would have been smooshed! These people had a huge fight with the garbage truck people. And you know what the garbage truck people responded with? “We’re a huge truck, you could see us coming, anyone could”!! That stirred up more fighting! I luckily got out of there as soon as I could!

4). Not too far to go, one block, and suddenly I hear a upheavelĀ sound of vomiting behind me….a Buffalo Sabres fan just threw up inches from me and my backpack as I passed a street of what turned out to be sports bars! I escaped that one to then have to escape another woman further along doing the same thing!!! And she was also a Buffalo Sabres fan! I can’t belive I escaped TWO Buffalo vomiters! Especially with such a huge backpack added to my frame!!

Who knew there would be an obstacle course on the way home tonight????!!!!!

Never a dull moment on the streets of New York!
