What would I do without my blackberry??

No seriously!

I have had in and out reception since I have been in the UK and it just makes me realize how reliant I am on my blackberry working. And when I have no reception or messages won’t send it is really really annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!

What does that say about me though??

That I can’t live without my blackberry??…..TRUE!!!

That I feel lost without my blackberry on me and working??…..TRUE!!!

That I get super impatient and constantly try to change the networks in order to make my blackberry send messages faster or receive them or do something??……TRUE!!!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

But it’s the blackberry’s fault with its red flashing and beeping that calls out my name…

But….

But….

Being a blackberry addict doesn’t make me a bad person, does it??

It means I am constantly stimulating myself and exercising my brain and of course you have to consider the finger and hand fitness!! HAHA!!

 

I am not alone though!!

Let’s face it – EVERYONE is addicted to their phones! Especially you iphone users!!! You can’t deny that 🙂

 


365 ONE: day 69…creepy gym guy

Day 69: March 17th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Anything to Note =

Late with the blog as had a looooong day. Up in MD for my film shoot. Wanted to get up early, before the free breakfast that comes with the room of course, and go to the hotel gym or do my 365 before my on set call time, but that alarm went off and I was not a happy bunny. I had a crappo sleep even though was in a King Size bed – kept waking up thinking I would miss my alarm for the film shoot!! So, it was even more disruptive than my usual disruptive sleep 😦

So had to get all my 365 done after the shoot had ended as there was just no time or place to do so on set, especially since I was playing  a dying mother, so crammed it all in after. Good thing the hotel gym is 24 hours 🙂

A funny thing happened at the gym though…

Was on the elliptical machine, which may I add was broken, as kept turning up the resistance until it reached the max 20 and nothing changed! There was no way I was a bionic woman doing level 20!! HAHA!!

So there I was on the elliptical and this guy comes in and gets on the treadmill about half way through my 30 mins. I kept catching him looking at me or checking on me through the glass in the front reflection, so I assumed he was perhaps waiting for me to be done to get on the elliptical as there was only one machine in the mini hotel gym. But I couldn’t do anything about it. I also saw him mouthing to himself and saying some things out loud through my headphones, so I assumed he was watching sports or something on the TV in front of his treadmill. I was watching Alvin and The Chipmunks!!! It was the only thing on!!!!!! AHHHHHH!!!

So, once I was done I still had to do my push-ups and other fitness 365 to do so grabbed some water and started on the floor behind the machines.

Suddenly I hear “C’mon!” and “Monty!” shouted out by the guy, so when I get a chance I look up to see which game he’s watching and….the TV is NOT ON!!!

So….his name is Monty? And he is yelling at himself? He keeps checking me out in the reflection, so is he trying to impress me?

CREEPY!!


365 ONE: day 48…lift that butt!

Anything to Note =

Jam packed today again – yet another day of two shows so had to take care of the 365 early on. Yesterday I didn’t get home until around 2am so it was a good thing I had done the blog and all. That is the last thing I want to do when I come home that late, that’s for sure!

You know what helps you do the 365 fitness, doing it in front of the TV while watching an infomercial about getting fit! And ironically, this morning the infomercial was Jillian Michaels and her new 90 day DVD set 🙂 Normally I get the Insanity infomercials on a Saturday morning – which I have seen so many times!! And yet funnily enough, I seem to watch a lot each time before switching channels…I have to admit I like the before and after pictures…although it makes you wonder with the technology these days, what stops them from having overweight people and simulating what they would look like thinner and toned with Photoshop? Or the other way around – having a super athletic person and then transforming what they would look like if they were fatter and out of shape with a little Photoshop….

Right after I watched way too much of the Jillian Michaels show, guess what was on the next channel…another fitness infomercial, but one I had never seen before…something to do with a Brazilian personal trainer making promises to lift your butt! That’s right…the women testimonials and pictures were all about how this program had changed their butts! NO JOKE! The before and after photos focused on the butts of these women transforming with this fitness and dance regime over a few months…it was hilariously graphic!!! The butts did look better and lifted! That was a new one for me on a Saturday morning 🙂

Interestingly on these photos, just after I had thought about the photoshopping possibility and the authenticity of the before and after shots, this Brazilian butt lift show had photos too and at the bottom it said “these have not been photoshopped” or something like that! And boy did these photos look R.E.A.L!!! The real-ist before and after shots I have ever seen…stretch marks, fat dimples…it was, on one hand a relief that finally a show is baring it all, but on the other hand now seriously made me wonder how much photoshopping is being done on all the other fitness infomercials out there!

I found it, the Brazil Butt Lift brief infomercial on YouTube, but sadly this is like a minute version so the good real before and after footage is not there, but here is a little bit of what was on TV…its like butt porn!!!!!!!! BOOTY PORN!!!


365 ONE: day 43…with some homemade aerobics!

Anything to Note =

Well…I saw that our subletter Madalina had a hand puppet in the form of an Elephant a while back and it crossed my mind that I should use it in one of my video uploads one day. So today, I decided to do just that. Picked it up and started recording…but the grip on it was constantly a problem as I was constantly talking. I had a hard time moving the trunk and mouth as I spoke and I could not reach out and re-adjust since I was filming! So, had to just go with it sadly..so looks a bit sloppy, along with what I was talking about! Veggies apparently! I liked doing this character but wish I had a better sense of what I was going for, but I guess that’s not the point of an improvised video upload! I was going for an educational but fun kids show, but the information and presentation of it was not that wise HAHA!!

My cardio today was especially funny! I decided to do some “homemade aerobics” 🙂 And of course I had to dress the part – I anticipated I would be sweating and boiling in my apartment so put on my sports bra and boy style panties and my trainers and that’s it! Pumped up the dance techno volume and went full out! I must have looked ridiculous – each time I caught myself in the mirror here and there it was quite the sight!

I have never taught aerobics but since I was dressed for the part I jammed it full of high impact moves to the energetic dance beat and just kept chopping and changing like I thought an aerobics instructor would! It definitely did the trick and got my heart racing! The outfit and the music gave me that boost to keep going 🙂

I was still in my outfit dancing to my dance of the day after when Stuart walked in with the groceries…and he double took at me and what I was wearing, and had a big “What the..?” on his face!!

In my head, I looked and felt like this….

365 ONE: day 38….home late :(

Day 38: February 15th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Anything to Note =

Not really. Not much to note today. Am exhausted from a full day of work and then we had a tech run of our show, and rehearsals to work sections after until 10pm, so not much to report this late and this tired.

I am consistently finding time to insert my 365 criteria backstage at my show in the sections I am not on stage – although anyone who comes off stage usually finds me on the floor doing push-ups or the plank 🙂 I have to be careful not to be in people’s way that need to cross backstage for entrances but its been working. I have also had to walk from the office to the theatre as my cardio in order to get that in too – so its been a lot of walking, which I predicted to be my most usual daily cardio – I just hope I don’t get too sick of it being my cardio over and over every day. I will need to change it up but I am just to busy to do anything else right now.

I had some time to also squeeze in my dance of the day tonight at our section rehearsals as they were rehearsing everyone in either a dance or vocal part and I was left to do my own thing at one point, so decided to dance to my ipod in the corner of the room. Not sure I liked this though as it really made me feel like I couldn’t go full-out. I was facing the wall but knew people in the room were watching me and wondering what the hell I was doing! I also chose a salsa Latin song and wanted to go full-out but just felt restricted. I didn’t want to disturb anyone or take away their focus from what they were doing, and wanted to be quiet on my feet….all in all, I was a little disappointed with my decision to do my dance. But I wanted to get it out of the way really, as I did get home so late, but it sacrificed my joy and want. I mean, the song was from Dirty Dancing so wanted to do it the “real way”!

What really threw me is I chose a salsa Latin song as I thought it would be less distracting in the rehearsal room but I started to notice how sexual I was and then how visible I was being sexually in my dancing, and that deterred me – and you know, I am an exhibitionist and would never have a problem with this, I would normally love this, but I didn’t want to disturb quality rehearsal time we needed. The professional took over in me, not the exhibitionist this time. But, rightly so!


365 ONE: day 33…is two bums or boobs!

Anything to Note =

33 looks like two bums!! Doesn’t it?? Flip your head and look at it! Or two sets of boobs! I know, I know, I am like 5 years old, but I typed in Day 33 and it made me laugh! Bums were my first image though…what does that say about me? Hmmmmm…

Okaaaaaaaaay then…

A couple of things I did for 365 I wish I could have done differently today:

1). Tip-toes on a crowded train in boots = soooo not funny! It was super smooshed on the 7 train – something was wrong as the amount of people was outrageous. Anyway, I get pushed in and barely holding on when I realize I had to go on tip-toes. So hard! When it’s so super crowded like that I could not re-adjust with the weight and so my legs were dying!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, had a couple behind me who would not stop talking about how horrible being crowded was and they needed to get off to get a cab, and its only cabs from now on, and this is a good time for pickpocketing, and they were so glad that the level of BO around them wasn’t so so bad…..SHUT UP! Some of us are trying to focus on our tip-toes around here! I was going to walk to the other station as my cardio and I didn’t….mistake!!

2). Barefoot “Side Jogging” in Place = WTF???? I don’t even know why or how I came up with that! I came home and knew I had to do something as my cardio but no idea how it came to this! I went into my room as our subletter was home and turned the TV on and then decided to re-create a Wii fit exercise where you jog in place to the circuit on TV, but instead I would do it to some TV show that was on. Set my phone timer for 15 mins and boom…off we go! It was more than 5 mins in when I realized I was doing some sort of “side jogging” to avoid just bouncing up and down – and by “side jogging” I guess I was swinging my legs out side to side in place…not sure what to call it but “side jogging” feels accurate 🙂 I think it was to prevent movement forward too as my pile of clothes on the bedroom floor limited my cardio area! And I had to be just there to see the TV haha! Then it was another few minutes before I realized that my calves were really hurting…and oh wait…I was barefoot and had no trainers on! And as a result I was on my tip-toes due to no support! Great! And had a long way to go still! So what did I do….stuck it out to the end, and now am in pain! Why oh why?

3). Shuffled Song After Cardio = great techno oldie song came on again but it was right after my major calves workout from my disastrous cardio so was not able to really dance. Instead ended up doing a lot of pelvic thrusts (as the song does indeed call for that since the chorus does say “Would you…ummm….would you go to bed with me?” !!) But even the thrusts hurt! And then ended up relying on mostly arm movements that turned into 60’s swimming dance moves?? Again, WTF?? I should have waited to do the dance later but wanted to get all my 365 done!

 


365 ONE: day six of challenge

Day 6: January 14th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!

Anything to Note =

Cardio today was actually at the gym – that thing called the gym that I haven’t been to in a looooong time! It’s a good thing that it’s only $10 a month as I feel less guilty. Thank you Planet Fitness. I managed to squeeze in some elliptical between conflicts today and boy am I out of shape – it was super hard! And I was on an easy level. I tell you if I hadn’t added the whole “Healthy” criteria to this 365 Challenge I would have been at that elliptical machine like the old crazy days where I wouldn’t leave the gym until I burned off 1,500 calories! Yup, I even went through a time where I had to call my good friend to come get me as I was puking in the gym shower due to my extreme-ness. That was an ultimate low-point, and I have not repeated that since, or got that low. But, to be honest, I have those urges, that desire still is there, that masochistic extreme addiction….I feel it all the time. Hence the food and veg week I am on right now, and believe me that’s wild. Since tomorrow is the end of the fruit/veg thing, I decided to have a little oil today with some veg – or I allowed it to be there – going against my instincts – but trying to be “normal”…whatever that is! I guess, better – I am trying to be better and lead a healthy lifestyle without all the crazy. This 365 Challenge is extreme enough without adding more to it!!

I also had some natural fruit gummies – also was hard to succumb to but I need to ease my body back to eating healthy so a bit here and there today and tomorrow should do it. Although I feel bad. This is how the whole crazy dieting starts though – I feel bad about myself and punishment is needed – although I don’t see it that way, but that’s what it sometimes feels like if honesty is underlying here. If I could eat nothing. Literally NOTHING, I would. And you want to know a secret….I have actually tried to eat nothing. I get to a faint state where I can’t take it any longer and give in…thank god!!!! But l admit that I have tried. I know it’s not good for me but now and again I get the extreme girl in me – the real extreme girl. I lost a lot of weight this past year because I lost my appetite – stress and an upcoming marriage would do that to anyone though! 365 will help me – if I can keep it up!! Day six! Tomorrow will be a whole week!

One good thing today, I got to dance the way I love to – in minimal lighting, high volume and in front of a mirror!!! And out came my secret techno cage dancer 🙂 LOVE!!! My body was a little tired but I pushed through. All I needed was a black light and white clothing on 🙂 I am soooooo European hahaha!!


HERE WE GO….FIRST 365 CHALLENGE!!!!

OKAY….the first 365 Challenge has begun! Challenge Name: 365 ONE

What is 365 Challenge?

Exactly what it sounds like! It is the challenge to do something for 365 days – one whole year!! I have a nickname….”Extreme Girl”….and here is something extreme! I challenge myself to do a 365 Challenge! I came up with 365 Challenge a while ago and finally today it begins!!

What is 365 ONE?

Also exactly how it sounds! So, I had to be careful as I literally wrote a whole list of what I wanted to do for my first 365 Challenge….and my list grew and grew as you can imagine because I’m clearly crazy. I decided on the below criteria, which I still consider to be “extreme” but a list I can I hope maintain realistically through thick and thin!

What Must I do EVERY DAY for 365 ONE?

*20 Push-Ups

*2 Minutes of the Plank

*40 Sit-Ups

*Stretch

*Dance to One Full Song, with Each Day Being a Different Song

*Some Form of Cardio

*To Not Sit on Public Transportation

*To Stand on Tiptoes During Every Subway Tunnel in NYC, or Through Two Stops if Abroad

*Eat Healthier
