Yesterday I had one of those moments – the coincidence moment – that weird freaky feeling where the world suddenly seems so small…

We were on the bus and on our way to visit our family friend and this woman sat next to my mum and pulled out a book to read (me of course standing per 365!) Hours and hours later, we got back on the bus to go home, and my mum sat down…and we both looked over and it was the same woman next to her reading the same book!!

It was hilarious and made me laugh out loud! Such a weird freaky moment that they would be on the same bus at the same time and then sit next to each other again! Considering how many hours had passed, that there is a bus every 10 mins, and then be sitting next to each other! Too funny!

But doesn’t it happen a lot though?? And think how big the world is yet you see the same random person again, or try to avoid someone in a city of millions and then you see them….and just think of how many factors have to align to make that happen! Soooo weird!

It happens to me a lot, but the best by far was when I was traveling to Greece years ago from America…

I can’t remember how long ago it was, I want to say when I was at Middlebury, and I flew home to Greece for a short time so I think it was for something like Thanksgiving break or Spring Break…it was for some short time period as I remember I went as it worked out to be super cheap to do so! Ah back in the day when you could find cheap off season prices!

Anyway, I was alone and had homework to do, so I was trying to get some done on the plane over when this guy came up to me and knelt down next to me in the aisle and said hello and introduced himself. He then asked me out “on a date” ON THE PLANE to watch the in-flight movie that was about to be shown and if I would like to join him as he had seats open next to him a few rows down!!!

I was like, ummmmm….no!! I said I had homework to do – which I then had to do the whole flight as he was literally a few rows away AND his family were on my row!! He said he was a wrestler and traveling with his family to Greece to then drive to Croatia to see a wrestling event…all the while his family were of course nearby listening in…but I kept saying “no, thank you” to his date offer…it was all just crazy and too funny!

Anyway, a few days later I was flying back to the USA, sat in my seat, pulled out more homework to finish, and who sits next to me?????? The wrestler guy and his family!!!!!

UNBELIEVABLE!!!

We were on the same flight after that whole weird date thing, AND he was sitting next to me!!! I mean, what are the odds!!!

He could not believe it either so kept saying “it’s a sign so now you have to go out with me” and all I could do was laugh!!

Well I certainly could not get away with homework so had to chat with him for the journey, but I still refused a date for when we were back in America!! But it was a long plane ride home!

I also remember he played a trick on me for hours as of course we were stuck chatting, so me and skiing came up and that I was a ski racer and he said his sister was Picabo Street, a very famous ski racer, and one of my all time favorites! He showed me his passport too and his last name was Street and he had his whole family in on it too showing me their passports. Turns out that it was just that his last name was indeed Street, and he was of no relation to the ski racer! But it was his way to keep my interest, keep the coincidences alive, and perhaps say yes to a date!!

We left it at – if we ever see each other again then I HAD to go on a date with him…and I agreed in fear we might somehow have another coincidental meeting…but thank god, it never happened again!

It’s a small world! Seriously!

Although now that i have brought it up, I hope I haven’t jinxed it and suddenly see him in Chiswick!!!

365 ONE: day 167…Sugar Baby

Day 167: June 23rd, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Hiking/Wedding Dancing

Dance of the Day was = Wedding Dance Music

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Draw Something”

Anything to Note =

We are at Lake Placid for a wedding of a friend’s of ours – never been – lovely and gorgeous here and very European chalet-esque with its Olympic history and Olympic-ness. We will have to go to take photos and look around and the town tomorrow before we leave…and get me a shot glass of course!!

Makes me want to go back to skiing and get my “been there, done that” t-shirt at the Olympics…let’s do it!!!

I sadly could not sleep at all though in our Town and Country Motor Inn ūüė¶ Despite the fact that it was a king size giant bed so had plenty of moving around room! And there was loud air conditioner noise which I need to sleep. And I was super tired – so all was in my favor….sad. It’s only probably going to get worse the further you are in the pregnancy and closer to the end, or so I hear…and then what about the next 18 years after that!!!!!!!!! I said that to Stuart and he looked at me funny…but its true! You have the baby years, then the toddler years, then the pre-teen years, and then the years worrying when he is out impregnating the world!!! HAHA!!

I woke up at 7am and thought about jumping in the pool outside our window but looked and it was grey, and then saw the sign that it wasn’t open until 9am, so that option was out. Boo! So then spent an hour looking up places nearby to have breakfast on the off-and-on reception of my blackberry, jealously while Stuart slept!!

We finally made a move, had some Diner food – apparently my glucose level is a little elevated – heard from my doctor yesterday, so now I have to be a little more mindful of my sugar intake…it’s funny though because if I crave anything it’s always savoury versus sweet. I will gladly take french fries over any sweet thing, any day. But the nausea has made me eat more carbs and sugar to get rid of the funny tastes…but not bad sugar which would indicate high glucose like white rice, juices and pasta – which were all examples from the doctor…so that means it must be from the chocolate or something…

It’s not very high but something to be mindful of I guess.

It did make me pay more attention at breakfast – no sugar in my tea. Bought dark chocolate and organic and low sugar snacks later, after our downpour hike. Yeah, we went on a hike – which felt like at first an intrusion on people’s property….literally! Even the website said you will feel like you are intruding on people’s property. The hike path is near the lake so at the bottom of people’s giant amazing houses – we got some curious looks! Then, it heads up and inland.

And then it rained! And then poured!! We actually had one umbrella in our bag and just huddled under it for a moment when it was really coming down, deciding which way to go, and funnily enough the others appeared on the path to our left haha! It was a good thing we went in though as when we got in the car it then started hailing!!!!!

Of course later on, it cleared! Typical.

And that brings us to now. About to go get ready for the wedding, so over and out!

365 ONE: day 135…Snail Walk

Day 135: May 22nd, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Ain’t She Sweet” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Shifty Eyes”

Anything to Note =

It still amazes me that people don’t know I’m pregnant at all! As I feel HUGE!! How can they not see how HUGE I am?? Or my bump that now is there for sure?? I know I wear baggy clothes as Zoe but now I feel even those can’t hide the bump! But just today, my director and fellow actor on our lunch break in rehearsal found out, and they said they had no idea!¬† They even said I don’t look pregnant!! That’s just like WHAT??!!

It also amazes me that I can’t walk fast! I’m on a crazy schedule these days with having to go to work early, then dashing to rehearsal downtown and across town, then back to the office after, so a lot of walking (which is good to accomplish my daily 365 criteria),¬†but a lot of rushing with this time schedule….where my usual fast NYC walker Zoe would come in handy…I just can’t seem to walk anywhere near that pace!!

I am on a time restraint constantly – I am always rushing – but I can normally cut it close as I can rely on my fast walking, but now am cutting it close and just can’t seem to pick up any pace! I can feel the¬†“uncomfortableness” in my stomach which then forces me to slow down but also my calves and tendons in my legs are so tight and inflexible that they just won’t push past a certain point anyway. I need to obviously do some serious stretching and more of my foam roller exercises to ease that up a bit.

Stupid skiing injury!!!!

I had an incident when I was racing for my boarding school, my first year actually, where it was super cloudy out and we were training on the mountain, and it was just white everywhere. Anyway, hit an unseen bump and literally touched my nose on my skiis in front without my boots being released since they need to be tight in race mode, but it stretched my calf tendons to the max and never recovered properly.

Like the Michael Jackson move haha!!

If only it was that graceful!!!

I was in France and they had no clue what to do, and I did not go straight into physical therapy or anything – instead adapted and tip-toed everywhere and raced for my school as I didn’t want to let my team down. And so since then I suffer when I walk a lot – I can feel it with shoes that don’t support me well or if I walk too fast or too much, especially uphill.

I must look hilarious when I walk!

I am working so hard – sweating and pushing forward with my upper body when the rest of me won’t follow, with my¬†big heavy backpack on! I must look like a¬†hunchback bent over, going on what feels like a snail’s pace!
