Day 255: September 19th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!
Cardio was = Walking
Dance of the Day was = “Sweet Little Sixteen” by The Beatles
Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “4am Scare”
Anything to Note =
I had a big scare this morning.
At 4am I got up with some pains and went to the bathroom….and got stuck in there until after 7am!
I suddenly got pain and cramps and it would not go away for a couple of hours.
I tried to lie down again and make the pain stop….nope. I tried to deduce if the symptoms I was feeling were real and not symptoms of fake labour so grabbed one of the books but….nope…what I was feeling was exactly what was being described as the first stage of labour. So I almost called the maternity helpline, as I am supposed to call when the pain is regular, but I was just hesitant a bit in case it would pass…
I should have woken my mum up, or Stuart, but I didn’t because….I don’t know really…I got scared and just kept reading to make sure…and I couldn’t move from the bathroom.
But I was convinced.
I even shaved my legs to distract myself between the cramps/contractions/pains as I had been meaning to rid me of the wooly mammoth legs before I went into hospital and just haven’t.
I kept saying – this is it….and just started thinking of how I wasn’t ready….
No hospital bag fully ready…well, I am sure my mum has but I hadn’t looked at it…
No, I hadn’t finished all the books yet…
No, I haven’t watched all the videos online about labour and delivery…
No, I am NOT MENTALLY READY!!!!
JUST NOT READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, the list went on as I sat there, and I thought what can I control right now and so I went for the shaving of my legs! It sounds ridiculous but that was my first step between the pains, then it was going to be a shower, then hospital bag, then wake everyone up, then call, then go to the hospital….
And I thought why now…and then I thought back and last night I really burned my fingers badly taking the garlic bread out of the oven and I felt a reaction in my body, a feeling of holding it in until I could get the oven tray to the top without dropping, and my stomach spasmed…so I was like, that reaction may have set it off…
At that moment, my burned fingers were not killing me anymore in comparison!
I was just convinced this was it…
And then suddenly the pain dulled a bit…and…it’s been a dull pain ever since really…
I had a doctors appointment this morning anyway so told her all about it and she said it could be the beginning or not be still for a little bit…she said the little monkey had dropped down to level 3 out of 5…so now I’m just stuck with dull pain, a lot of pressure, a lot of movement, and fear!

Had a nice day today…
– it was sunny
– I had lunch with Stuart’s father at Cafe Rouge on his lunch break. It turns out that his new job that just started is right around the corner, so that worked out well!
– Cafe Rouge is one of my favorite places as it has one of my favorite things to eat there…baguette poulet! Yummy! So had me one of those 🙂
– I finished the baby name book woo hoo! So went back and tried to be as objective and non-attached as possible and put them in a list for when I’m ready to look at it properly. Or show it. Share it.
– I had some bites of some really good cheesecake!
– I had scones for dessert for dinner….which I love!!
And best of all…
And this is hilarious…
– I had mentioned to my mum that I had gone through the baby name book as she came in when I was copying down the names into a list and holding the book up…so essentially got caught and it then aroused her curiosity naturally! So she has been asking me all day to see the list! Anyway, she randomly comes up with names and just says them out loud – she has been doing that for a while – but today more so after seeing me do that, and we were watching something on TV about The Beatles and obviously music popped into her head as she threw out Simon and then Art. So I said No to Garfunkel to finish off her thought and she said how about Garth….which I of course said No to!
And then there was silence.
And suddenly my mum says…
And I looked at her about to say No, but she said – “you know, like that guy, Garth Radar”
And there was silence again as I looked at her to comprehend and said…
“Do you mean: Darth Vader??????”
And she nodded and burst into hysteric laughter!! And then I burst into laughter!!
That was amazing!! Garth Radar hahaha!!
My mum is obviously a true Star Wars fan hahaha!! That made my day!!
Day 200: July 26th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!
Cardio was = Walking/Unpacking/Dancing
Dance of the Day was = “I Should Have Known Better” by The Beatles
Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Little Leo’s Birthday”
Anything to Note =
I am sitting, literally, in the dark, outside on a stool, in front of a window sill, out back as apparently this is the only position I can get Internet here!!! Seriously!!! We are in the process of moving so we have no Internet so am stealing Internet from obviously this one house behind me as it is the only place I can grab enough signal, or any signal for that matter! I can’t move the iPad from the window sill otherwise it is lost so sadly have to type at a weird angle. I’ve been standing or rather slightly squatting to type here these past few evenings but I just found a stool, that is too low, so not sure this is any better! Ugh.
I’ve also tried to do my blogging earlier in the day but it has been so so hot here and the sun points directly at this window sill all day, so I have not been able to do so. I actually tried this morning but I was dying so gave up!
Soooo….something to note today and worth mentioning….I made it to DAY 200!!!!!!!
I can’t believe I have made it to DAY 200!!!!!!
I know I still have a long long way to go but there is something satisfying about making it to the two hundreds now!
Although to be honest with you….I am getting a little fed up and annoyed that I have to do this daily…especially when so busy and doing so many things. I just want to rest and do nothing but I can’t as I have to help my parents move by Sunday…and what annoys me is that even if I have nothing to do, I would still have 365 to do. Ugh.
I was going to introduce the charitable element to this challenge to keep me going….may have to invoke that…and soon. Hmmmmm.
Day 195: July 21st, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!
Cardio was = On My Feet Working at the Harlequin Bar
Dance of the Day was = “I’m Down” by The Beatles
Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Teddy Central”
Anything to Note =
Today was just a random day, full of lots of different random things that kept me busy….
First up – had to get up as Stuart was up early to play golf with his brothers and dad, but before he left his mother made a full English breakfast…so I had to be up for that!!!!!! I could smell the bacon and goodies downstairs 🙂 Nothing beats a good English breakfast!! Yummy!!
After that – Stuart’s mum and I went to the nail salon. We didn’t think it would be that long but got stuck behind a family getting their nails done….oddly, it was a family of young girls getting their nails done while another family waited and watched. Which was sad actually, as these girls were young and obviously this other family of girls were not allowed to have them done so they just had to watch 😦 They did ask a few times and got a little upset and stroppy when they kept being told “No”. Although it was bizarre – as these girls were super young and getting fake nails on!! It must have been for some event like a wedding or something…or I hope so as it was just weird!
Then off to Costa coffee – with Stuart’s mum to meet up with her special someone.
Then – heading to Stuart’s brother’s house to have a quick hello and cup of tea with the three little cute kids since Stuart’s brother was off playing golf for the day.
And then – home for a quick change and some crumpets.
Before heading to the – Harlequin to help out behind the bar for a dance show they were having in the theatre which was supposed to have 400 some odd people attend. They were understaffed and so I said I would help out. Arrived there at 6pm and instead of having time to look around and figure out whats what I was thrown in as there were already people arriving and queuing up. At first I started by helping others and then there was just too many people so had to dive in and do orders too. It was funny as I of course had to figure out the cash register and where everything was and how much everything was as well as figure out what the UK “drink slang” meant and what it was!! So as I passed Stuart’s mum or others I knew who worked there I would ask them sneakily on my way!! It’s quite organized though there so soon caught on but it was just a funny process – should have been my video upload of the day!!! If only someone could have been filming from the side!! Especially with some muck-ups like giving the wrong change, typing in the item three times instead of once on the cash register, not being able to find the correct pint glasses for the different beers! 🙂
