365 ONE: day 255…Thought The Little Monkey Was Coming at 4am

Day 255: September 19th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Sweet Little Sixteen” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “4am Scare”

Anything to Note =

I had a big scare this morning.

At 4am I got up with some pains and went to the bathroom….and got stuck in there until after 7am!

I suddenly got pain and cramps and it would not go away for a couple of hours.

I tried to lie down again and make the pain stop….nope. I tried to deduce if the symptoms I was feeling were real and not symptoms of fake labour so grabbed one of the books but….nope…what I was feeling was exactly what was being described as the first stage of labour. So I almost called the maternity helpline, as I am supposed to call when the pain is regular, but I was just hesitant a bit in case it would pass…

I should have woken my mum up, or Stuart, but I didn’t because….I don’t know really…I got scared and just kept reading to make sure…and I couldn’t move from the bathroom.

But I was convinced.

I even shaved my legs to distract myself between the cramps/contractions/pains as I had been meaning to rid me of the wooly mammoth legs before I went into hospital and just haven’t.

I kept saying – this is it….and just started thinking of how I wasn’t ready….

No name…

No hospital bag fully ready…well, I am sure my mum has but I hadn’t looked at it…

No, I hadn’t finished all the books yet…

No, I haven’t watched all the videos online about labour and delivery…

JUST NOT READY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I mean, the list went on as I sat there, and I thought what can I control right now and so I went for the shaving of my legs! It sounds ridiculous but that was my first step between the pains, then it was going to be a shower, then hospital bag, then wake everyone up, then call, then go to the hospital….

And I thought why now…and then I thought back and last night I really burned my fingers badly taking the garlic bread out of the oven and I felt a reaction in my body, a feeling of holding it in until I could get the oven tray to the top without dropping, and my stomach spasmed…so I was like, that reaction may have set it off…

At that moment, my burned fingers were not killing me anymore in comparison!

I was just convinced this was it…

And then suddenly the pain dulled a bit…and…it’s been a dull pain ever since really…

I had a doctors appointment this morning anyway so told her all about it and she said it could be the beginning or not be still for a little bit…she said the little monkey had dropped down to level 3 out of 5…so now I’m just stuck with dull pain, a lot of pressure, a lot of movement, and fear!

Real FEAR!

365 ONE: day 245….One Week Till Stuart The Burge!

Day 245: September 9th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Eleanor Rigby” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Baby Room Thus Far”

Anything to Note =

Stuart will be here a week today!!!!

And I can’t wait to see him and be with him….as I haven’t seen him in almost two months! Which is a little crazy – have been so busy that I’m not sure where the time went! But I have felt so far away and miss him so only one more week to go!

Although he has not seen the whale I have become!

Just you wait and see Stuart!!!

I was a whale before but now I have developed into a W.H.A.L.E!!!!! The couple times we have Skyped have not been able to show just how much….so prepare yourself Burgess!

I really can’t wait to see him but there is also an element of being scared that he is coming over in just a week….because that means that we are close to the finale here!!! It means, that things are really close, that giving birth is close, and that freaks me out!!

It’s a double feeling of missing him so much and can’t wait to see him….to….ahhhh he can’t come over because then things will get real!!!

Soooooooo…..going to push that out of my mind for a second!! And show you something hilarious. We have a cable TV service over here in the UK called Sky and so my mum and I watch movies at night and browse through the names to figure out what’s on etc. Well, if you press the info button it tells you a bit about the movie…well late last night we clicked on the info for a movie to see what it was about and this popped up…

This cracked me up!!

I love the warnings about this movie….the usual of course: sex, violence etc etc….but then at the end…live octopus ingestion!!!! What the????!!!!! I have never seen that before!!!!

365 ONE: day 240…Garth Radar!!

Anything to Note =

Had a nice day today…

– it was sunny

– I had lunch with Stuart’s father at Cafe Rouge on his lunch break. It turns out that his new job that just started is right around the corner, so that worked out well!

– Cafe Rouge is one of my favorite places as it has one of my favorite things to eat there…baguette poulet! Yummy! So had me one of those 🙂

– I finished the baby name book woo hoo! So went back and tried to be as objective and non-attached as possible and put them in a list for when I’m ready to look at it properly. Or show it. Share it.

– I had some bites of some really good cheesecake!

– I had scones for dessert for dinner….which I love!!

And best of all…

And this is hilarious…

– I had mentioned to my mum that I had gone through the baby name book as she came in when I was copying down the names into a list and holding the book up…so essentially got caught and it then aroused her curiosity naturally! So she has been asking me all day to see the list! Anyway, she randomly comes up with names and just says them out loud – she has been doing that for a while – but today more so after seeing me do that, and we were watching something on TV about The Beatles and obviously music popped into her head as she threw out Simon and then Art. So I said No to Garfunkel to finish off her thought and she said how about Garth….which I of course said No to!

And then there was silence.

And suddenly my mum says…

Garth Radar.

And I looked at her about to say No, but she said – “you know, like that guy, Garth Radar”

And there was silence again as I looked at her to comprehend and said…

“Do you mean: Darth Vader??????”

And she nodded and burst into hysteric laughter!! And then I burst into laughter!!

That was amazing!! Garth Radar hahaha!!

My mum is obviously a true Star Wars fan hahaha!! That made my day!!

365 ONE: day 234…Happy Birthday Daddy!

Day 234: August 29th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Honey Pie” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Photos of Dad”

Anything to Note =

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my wonderful amazing dad!!

It is his birthday and me and my mum are in the UK and he is in Greece….which in the history of my life has never happened before. I have spent every single birthday with my father, and always made an effort to be where ever he is in the world, by his side to celebrate.

But today.

I tried so hard to find him a flight over but I failed.

I searched for days and nothing. Everything was sold out or outrageous in price! And I mean outrageous!!! Like thousands of pounds or euros – I mean even if you had lots of money it’s still not justifiable to spend such an outrageous amount of money to go just within Europe…these prices are equivalent to flying to America from Greece, or even to Australia and beyond!

This must be a combination of fuel prices, cutting back on the number of planes they have out there, that it’s August still, that the Paralympics start tonight, that people booked holidays after the Olympics ended, and pure poop against the less financially able, like us!!

Poop I say, again!!

So it’s just a little sad today as we can’t be together, and I, the travel agent in the family could not make it happen, so I feel guilty 😦

And it’s just sad as it centers around our financial crisis my family is going through and what life used to be about – just jump on a plane and go, anything for family – and now – when every penny needs to be watched or taken into consideration or justified…and I have always hated money and been money conscious but for my parents this downhill has really hurt them. And they are still just so generous and wanting to give us, give me, everything…and since I can’t fly I know my dad wanted to be here for me, with me, to give me that, and…could not.

I need to seriously play the lottery because I owe him the world. I hate money so much but life cannot function without it and I just wish I had it for my parents, not me. I am the eternal bargain hunter 🙂 And they come first in my eyes.

I’m sorry daddy.

Happy Birthday Loon (that is our nickname for each other, between me and my dad, which I know sounds funny and weird haha, but its Loon or Loonie, or Loonaki – Greek variations of that word!!)

I have no idea how and when that came about actually haha!! But it has nothing to do with the literal English translation of a crazy person or a bird haha! Just special nicknames for each other 🙂

Can you tell I am the ultimate daddy’s little girl???!!!!

My dad wants to come over for the birth of the little schmonkie so I will just have to organize a birthday celebration for my dad then…and get him some big presents to make up for him not being here with us today 🙂

365 ONE: day 200….I Made it to DAY 200!!!!

Day 200: July 26th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking/Unpacking/Dancing

Dance of the Day was = “I Should Have Known Better” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Little Leo’s Birthday”

Anything to Note =

I am sitting, literally, in the dark, outside on a stool, in front of a window sill, out back as apparently this is the only position I can get Internet here!!! Seriously!!! We are in the process of moving so we have no Internet so am stealing Internet from obviously this one house behind me as it is the only place I can grab enough signal, or any signal for that matter! I can’t move the iPad from the window sill otherwise it is lost so sadly have to type at a weird angle. I’ve been standing or rather slightly squatting to type here these past few evenings but I just found a stool, that is too low, so not sure this is any better! Ugh.

I’ve also tried to do my blogging earlier in the day but it has been so so hot here and the sun points directly at this window sill all day, so I have not been able to do so. I actually tried this morning but I was dying so gave up!

Soooo….something to note today and worth mentioning….I made it to DAY 200!!!!!!!

WOO HOO!!!!!!

I can’t believe I have made it to DAY 200!!!!!!

I know I still have a long long way to go but there is something satisfying about making it to the two hundreds now!

Although to be honest with you….I am getting a little fed up and annoyed that I have to do this daily…especially when so busy and doing so many things. I just want to rest and do nothing but I can’t as I have to help my parents move by Sunday…and what annoys me is that even if I have nothing to do, I would still have 365 to do. Ugh.

I was going to introduce the charitable element to this challenge to keep me going….may have to invoke that…and soon. Hmmmmm.

365 ONE: day 195…Go To – Go There – Do That – Day

Day 195: July 21st, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = On My Feet Working at the Harlequin Bar

Dance of the Day was = “I’m Down” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Teddy Central”

Anything to Note =

Today was just a random day, full of lots of different random things that kept me busy….

First up – had to get up as Stuart was up early to play golf with his brothers and dad, but before he left his mother made a full English breakfast…so I had to be up for that!!!!!! I could smell the bacon and goodies downstairs 🙂 Nothing beats a good English breakfast!! Yummy!!

After that – Stuart’s mum and I went to the nail salon. We didn’t think it would be that long but got stuck behind a family getting their nails done….oddly, it was a family of young girls getting their nails done while another family waited and watched. Which was sad actually, as these girls were young and obviously this other family of girls were not allowed to have them done so they just had to watch 😦 They did ask a few times and got a little upset and stroppy when they kept being told “No”. Although it was bizarre – as these girls were super young and getting fake nails on!! It must have been for some event like a wedding or something…or I hope so as it was just weird!

Then off to Costa coffee – with Stuart’s mum to meet up with her special someone.

Then – heading to Stuart’s brother’s house to have a quick hello and cup of tea with the three little cute kids since Stuart’s brother was off playing golf for the day.

And then – home for a quick change and some crumpets.

Before heading to the – Harlequin to help out behind the bar for a dance show they were having in the theatre which was supposed to have 400 some odd people attend. They were understaffed and so I said I would help out. Arrived there at 6pm and instead of having time to look around and figure out whats what I was thrown in as there were already people arriving and queuing up. At first I started by helping others and then there was just too many people so had to dive in and do orders too. It was funny as I of course had to figure out the cash register and where everything was and how much everything was as well as figure out what the UK “drink slang” meant and what it was!! So as I passed Stuart’s mum or others I knew who worked there I would ask them sneakily on my way!! It’s quite organized though there so soon caught on but it was just a funny process – should have been my video upload of the day!!! If only someone could have been filming from the side!! Especially with some muck-ups like giving the wrong change, typing in the item three times instead of once on the cash register, not being able to find the correct pint glasses for the different beers! 🙂

365 ONE: day 193…A Free Wash?????

Day 193: July 19th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “You Know What To Do” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog = “Pregnant in a Suitcase”

Anything to Note =

I went to town yesterday to look around while Stuart played golf with his brothers and in the corner of my eye as I walked into the Pound Store (like the dollar store but everything is a pound) there was a woman who just picked up something and stuffed it in her jacket pocket. Right there as she entered.

I went over to see what she had taken and it was washing up liquid!!!!!!

That is not something you would normally think about pocketing, particularly as it was quite a large object!

I tired to see if I could see it in her pocket as she stayed to continue shopping but I could not see anything – and then it made me doubt that I saw her take anything in the first place. It threw me, so I ended up being some sort of stalker following her around to see if she took anything else or acted suspicious in any way.

But I never saw anything and she left.

I’m pretty sure she took it but I just could not find or see any proof.

365 ONE: day 172…Comic or Book or MOOOOOVIE!!

Day 172: June 28th, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Paperback Writer” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “RockStar Glasses”

Anything to Note =

I saw a guy actively laugh, seriously laugh, you know like one of those loud belly laughs, to a comic he was reading on the subway today.

I guess because I’m not a reader that I don’t understand that. I mean, I don’t read so I’ve never had an emotional experience with a book – which is sad, I know – but I’m a why-read-the-book-when-you-can-watch-the-movie girl 🙂 Hey, I’m never disappointed in the movie version! HAHA!!

Really the only books I’ve read have been for school like psychology novels that I had to study and analyze and write papers about, or any books for my theatre training  – I mean with plays that’s different – I’ve had some emotions creep in – but still not to the extent everyone talks about or I see on the subway. I’ve literally seen people cry from reading, out in public, and that is just something foreign to me.

Now comics are just a whole other world! I never got into them or really actually ever read one – so I don’t understand having a reaction to one of those – I mean I can’t understand it with a book so not sure how I would understand it with a comic! I don’t think I’ll ever get it.

Anyone want to prove me wrong??

Who wants to give me a book??

Who wants to give me a comic??

365 ONE: day 165…Laundry Mishap

Day 165: June 21st, 2012 = COMPLETE!!!!!

Cardio was = Walking

Dance of the Day was = “Roll Over Beethoven” by The Beatles

Improvised Acting Video I uploaded to my other blog was = “Schvitsing”

Anything to Note =

It’s a scorcher as predicted today!!

I mean super super hot.

What I would give to be on the beach right now with the ocean a few steps away! Well, and not be a whale though!

And by beach….I mean Spetses Island, Greece.

And by ocean….I mean the Mediterranean, that blue clear water just steps away.

And by now…I mean NOW!! 🙂

I again could not find anything to wear in a heat wave.

A couple of weeks ago we realized that the laundry lost some of my trousers. We drop off the laundry and pick up as it’s so easy and cheap, and frankly we have no time to do it ourselves sadly. Never had a problem at all. But a couple of weeks ago we got back the laundry and I knew my favourite pink pajamas were in there as I had packed the laundry and had been wearing them. So thought that odd.

Then I couldn’t find my two preggo trouser purchases – my jeans, that I had tailored as well, and my capris – which I both loved! 😦

We went back to see if they had been misplaced or forgotten but they couldn’t find anything. Ugh. Sad.

Then this morning I looked in the laundry we got back last night and couldn’t find my other two flowy favourite trousers I’ve had for a while – so they must have been in the missing batch too! Which is super sad as those are my fave’s and I have no clue how to replace them 😦

So odd – a whole stack of my trousers must have gone into someone else’s laundry or something. Boo!

Anyway, they were the perfect trousers for this heat….hmmmm….so ended up having nothing to wear….and wearing my PAJAMAS!!

Black and white poker dotted pajama pants!
