Its the 26th and the little monkey is still holding on! Four days late now!
My mum read the leaflet they gave us at the hospital yesterday about induction and the processes and everything and now it’s funny as she has flipped to the other side!
She is now encouraging me to do all kinds of things that she has been telling me off for or saying I have to be careful with…her new list of “must do’s” or “can do’s” are now…
– “go ahead and jump around as much as you can with your 365 dance”
– “do as much 365 as you want really!”
– “bounce up and down!”
– “yes, go, walk around, walk, walk, walk”
– “when you come home have a quickie” = now that was a good one!!
Sex seems to be the hot topic with her really in general as a means to start labor! Just now she called down on the internal phone line and asked what I was doing and then said:
“Finish your blog and start bonging!!” HAHAHA!!! (I did love the word bonging!! Haha!!)
I mean, all day she has been talking about it!! It didn’t help that my older brother called to check up and said that for all three pregnancies he would have an 8am quickie towards the end and avoided the induction date!!! That’s just great!
Sex is the stereotype to encouraging labor…I mean it is everywhere, but it is funny as my mum I think thought it was just a joke like what they say in the movies…but now she knows its real and
apparently effective she won’t stop!
And it IS everywhere – it’s mentioned all the time…on TV, movies…and it seemed to be mentioned on the exact programs she was watching today coincidentally!!!
I got an earful of info from Keeping up with the Kardashians show she watched…which mentioned how foreplay and making out stimulated labor….so then my mum started asking me about what gets me excited and all the different types of foreplay…and stimulation of the breasts…
We don’t speak about that!!! And there’s a reason for that!!!!
Too much! Too much!
I quickly left to come down and finish my blog!!
I understand she wants me to avoid anything that’s not going to naturally encourage labor as that is ideal but what a day of sex talk!!
Never thought I would see the day when my mum would be telling me to have sex!!

Stuart arrived this morning 🙂
It was so nice to see him after almost two months….which is crazy!! I can’t believe it has been so long since I have seen him! It’s funny as I was a little scared about seeing him as I am a whale!!! But also as it means we are getting close to the end with less than a week to go until the official due date, but really it can happen anytime!
But it was so lovely to see him as I had missed him so much regardless of my scary feelings under it all too.
I still don’t believe it’s real, that he is here. I also haven’t had any time to just be me and him yet as today we had the Burgess family over too (sadly I could not arrange for all members to be present for Stuart but managed to get two siblings, their families and his mum), so that was wonderful, and Tony, Stuart’s wonderful friend who I love, and who took our beautiful NYC wedding photos (if anyone needs a fantastic photographer let me know as Tony is your guy!!! Seriously!!)
Thank you to Tony, Alice, Ollie, Neil, Haylie, and their little ones Charlie, Lily, Grace for trekking to London to come see us!
It was so nice to have everyone all together for when Stuart arrived – even though, poor thing, Stuart must have been exhausted as he did not sleep on the plane (both he and I can’t sleep on planes) so he had to stay awake for a super long day. I just allowed him to go to bed now haha! I told him he had to make it to at least 9pm so that he falls into the UK time zone and beats the jet lag.
So I guess we will “see” each other and be with each other tomorrow as today was a whirlwind!
But it’s good to have the little schmonkie’s daddy around!!!! Ahhhhh…so weird to say!!
It’s funny as Paloma, my friend in NYC made a comment on Whatsapp messenger while we were chatting that every sentence she says seems to start with “I can’t believe….” and it’s so true as I feel exactly the same! I can’t believe anything!! And I always want to start with that beginning to every sentence!
Well, there’s no other way to say it but – I can’t believe Stuart is here!
Side note: am here typing the blog upstairs near the Internet while hopefully Stuart is sleeping downstairs, but what’s funny is that my parents are watching Downton Abbey behind me in the kitchen while I type and my mum is hilarious!! She is literally talking to the TV! To the characters haha! Commenting along with things like “No, don’t tell her!” and making grunts and emotional noises! I wish I had captured that on video…may have to try at some point!
